EORTC – Patient Days 2017-10-20T07:06:21+00:00

A two-day course for cancer patient advocates

Resulting from EORTC-ECPC partnership, this course is designed specifically for European patients and/or patient representatives. The goal of this course is to provide cancer patient advocates with a stimulating and challenging two-day training experience leading to a much greater understanding of the whole clinical trials process. Provided the format (two half days), this course shall be considered as an intensive introduction to the subject. The course programme was reviewed by the Programme Committee with majority of patient representatives from different organisations. Participation in this course will enable cancer patient advocates to learn about cancer biology; personalized cancer treatment and care; the organisation of clinical research; and very importantly, how patient groups can become more involved in the design and implementation of clinical trials. Several interactive sessions will enable participants to debate on selected topics with experts from different fields, including researchers, but also more experienced patient advocates.

Who should attend? Patient Group Leaders with some experience in cancer related patient advocacy/patient support/patient information provision and a high interest in understanding clinical research in cancer. Participants should have good English language skills as the course will be conducted only in English.

Education Grants for Patient Advocates
While patient advocates play a vital role in the events, many do not have the means to participate. Since their voice is essential in furthering the events agenda of improving patient outcomes, we would like to bring together as many as possible from wide-ranging backgrounds. Your support will help cover the cost of their travel and accommodation. Your funding of such a grant will be gratefully acknowledged in the printing material, on the conference website as well as onsite.

This warning message applies to any third party who might use a similar questionable approach.

The European Organisation of Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) have been made aware of a service provider of the name Exhibition Housing Services (EHS), which has contacted a number of Faculty Members to offer hotel reservation services.

Exhibition Housing Services steals Faculty Member’s information on events websites and pretends to be contracted by the events’ hotels to book rooms on behalf of both the hotels and the EORTC.

Please note that Exhibition Housing Services do not represent the EORTC, nor have the EORTC authorized them to use its name or trademark on information they send out.

If you are contacted by Exhibition Housing Services, or any other third party, by phone or emails using the EORTC name and/or offering hotel reservation services, we urge Faculty Members to proceed with extreme caution before signing anything sent by them or entering into any conversation with them or replying to any of their emails sent either from ‘@ehshousing.com’ or from any other third party. We also advise you NOT to give them your credit cards information.
